Our Team



Ryan Doughty
Founder and Instructor for Impulse Learning. Ryan is currently studying Computer Science with minors in Economics and Artificial Intelligence at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He also plays soccer for their Varsity Men’s team. Ryan is a former graduate of St. John’s School, where he was involved in Student Government and the School Newspaper.
Andrew Tong
Founder and Instructor for Impulse Learning. Andrew is currently studying Finance and Statistics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Andrew Tong is a graduate from St. John’s School. In high school, he was involved in debate and business related clubs, with special interest towards data analysis and coding. He also teaches middle school students as a debate instructor.
Matthew Yekell
Founder and Instructor for Impulse Learning. A graduate from St. John’s School, Matthew will be continuing his studies at Stanford University where he plans on double majoring in Economics and Sociology. In 2020, Matthew was named Texas’ Top High School Youth Volunteer, and his work has been featured in the New York Times, Houston Chronicle, and Them Magazine.



Eileen Kim
Instructor for Impulse Learning. Eileen Kim is a graduate from Bergen County Technical High School in Teterboro, NJ, where she majored in Law & Justice. Eileen will be double majoring in Politics and in Public Policy Analysis with a concentration in Sociology at Pomona College. She is passionate about mental health advocacy, political activism, and violin.
Marcela Madrid
Instructor for Impulse Learning. Marcela Madrid is a graduate from St. John’s School. Throughout her high school career, she was involved with Breakthrough Houston, teaching both during the school year and as a full time Writing teacher in the summer. Marcela will be attending the University of Chicago this fall and is planning to double major in History and Public Policy.
Travis Ho
Instructor for Impulse Learning. Travis Ho is a graduate from St. John’s School. In high school, Travis was heavily involved in community service, and was a class community service officer all four years of high school. He was also a volleyball captain and ran on the track and field team. This fall, Travis will be studying cognitive studies at Vanderbilt University.
For Impulse Learning, Travis is the Marketing Director.
